One of problems we had with Carol's memoir was how to fight the completely wrong presumption that a memoir about animals would be sentimental. It certainly isn't! But we worried about it.
Carol had a fine monochrome (tan) etching that her son had made as a boy. I thought I could use it if -- as I said to her -- I made it all wild and crazy and sixties-like.
So I did that, put a dark blue background around it, matched the type color to the blotches on the pig, and that was that.
