Initially, Phil and I spent a long time working with multi-image drafts. The idea was to use eitght or ten photographs from his house and garden. But we just couldn't make it work -- I'd one a couple like that for other publishers and they are difficult -- especially difficult when the author and I can't be sitting looking at the same screen while I move images around, resize them, and so on.

Eventually Phil suggested a painting his wife had made -- and that's what you see here.
