Long before we started talking about this book, I showed Jessamyn some of my lava pictures, and she liked this one.

Because the original title was Gilgamesh / Wilderness, I got to thinking that the ribbon of lava could function as the slash.

In the final title, the slash is gone  . . .  but the lava remains on the cover.
