Marcia Meier
Marcia Meier is an award-winning author, book editor, and workshop leader.
Her memoir Face (2021, Saddle Road Press) won the New Mexico Arizona Book Award, National Federation of Press Women Award, Story Circle Network’s May Sarton Award, and numerous other honors. Her other books include the poetry collections Ireland, Place Out of Time and Heart on a Fence; Navigating the Rough Waters of Today's Publishing World, Critical Advice for Writers from Industry Insiders; and Santa Barbara, Paradise on the Pacific. She has edited two anthologies: Writing Through the Apocalypse, Pandemic Poetry and Prose (2023) and Unmasked, Women Write About Sex and Intimacy After Fifty (2017).
A newspaper journalist for nearly two decades, she has freelanced or written for numerous publications and holds degrees in journalism and creative writing. She has taught writing for more than two decades, and continues to teach writing workshops internationally.
Marcia is a member of the Association of Writers and Writing Programs, The Author’s Guild, and PEN America.
